I am not just one thing. I am many. I am divinity shaped by a broken past. And in my scattered fragments, you will find a dark and hidden beauty. I am a story waiting to be read. I am a work of art waiting to be felt. And in all that I create and consume, I long to feel I am someplace far away and yet utterly home all at once.

About Me


Welcome!! My name is Vanessa Paige Israel or simply, Nessa, as I prefer to be known. I feel, though I have been here more than a quarter of a century, my life feels rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things. And while I think that's ok, I also like to think my life will have impacted someone in the way others have impacted me, primarily those who wrote stories I have filled my head with.

I have enjoyed books since I was a kid, though I feel I discovered my true passion for reading and thus, writing, when I was about 12 years old. I long to know and be known, to share what insignificant things I think about; things like the beauty in being able to experience this life - a topic I often think about, the complexities of it I find myself weaving into the fabric of the stories I write.

Besides reading and writing, I enjoy making art and crafts, attending book festivals, dressing my American Girl dolls, and trying my hand at puppeteering. It is my hope to be able to publish soon the first novel in a planned 4-part series, The Story of Hollyhocks (Tales from Beyond the Veil).
